11B-224.1.4 Guest room toilet and bathing rooms.

In transient lodging facilities where toilet and bathing rooms are provided in guest rooms that are not required to provide mobility features complying with Section 11B-806.2, toilet and bathing fixtures shall only be required to comply with Section 11B-603.6.

Advisory 11B-224.1.4 Guest room toilet and bathing rooms. Section 11B-224.1.4 applies only to transient lodging facilities and does not apply to housing at a place of education. Italicized text is California-specific language, and specific only to transient lodging facilities such as hotels and motels. The requirements for bathrooms with mobility features in Section 11B-806 and the requirements for bathrooms with adaptable features in Section 11B-809.10 supersede the minimum accessibility requirements stipulated in this section because they provide greater accessibility to achieve compliance with federal standards. ◼
