11B-806.2.4.1 Vanity counter top space.

If vanity counter top space is provided in non-accessible guest bathrooms, toilet or bathing rooms, comparable vanity counter top space, in terms of size and proximity to the lavatory, shall also be provided in accessible guest bathrooms, toilet or bathing rooms.

Advisory 11B-806.2.4.1 Vanity counter top space. This provision is intended to ensure that accessible guest rooms are provided with comparable vanity counter top space. ◼

From DSA's "Summary of New and Amended 2025 California Building Code (CBC) Regulations for Accessibility in the Triennial Code Cycle: "Addition of the word “bathrooms” to existing “toilet and bathing rooms” language, to denote that the requirement for vanity counter top space is applicable to both transient lodging facilities and housing at a place of education."
