Carol Michels

Carol M. Michels, Ed.D., MS, OTR/L coordinates the Integrated Technology Services, the Occupational and Physical Therapy Services, and the Adapted Physical Education Services at Northern Suburban Special Education District (NSSED), a Special Education School Cooperative serving 18 member districts in Illinois. She has practiced in clinics and schools as an occupational therapist and an assistive technology staff member prior to her administrative role. Carol has completed her Doctorate in Educational Leadership with a dissertation focus on researching and redesigning the assistive technology services and department structure within school settings to meet the evolving needs and change forces impacting both public education and assistive technology. She has presented findings at technology and therapy conferences and provides professional development for occupational therapists and educational staff.
