 sentation reviews current research around assistive technology program red
 esign. It discusses the roles research has identified for assistive techno
 logy departments in schools and depicts specific change forces impacting p
 ublic education and assistive technology departments/services that are pre
 dicating this change. Research results are detailed through discussion and
  direct experience restructuring and redesigning the assistive technology
