Description: 

  • This one-day course provides a framework around the DSA plan review process for accessibility compliance and equips participants with the essential concepts, reference materials and job aides for conducting timely, consistent, and accurate plan reviews. Throughout the course, participants have the opportunity to apply access code regulations against case studies and exercises. The course emphasizes procedures throughout the plan review process as a means to set expectations for anyone involved in plan review or development to ensure access compliance in the built environment.

    • Application of scoping versus technical code sections.

    • Difference between accessible route, path of travel and circulation path.

    • Requirements for new construction, additions and alterations.

    • Review of typical errors or omissions.

    • Reference materials provided by the Division of the State Architect.
