Date/Time: November 28, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Location: Erie County Fire Training Center, 3359 Broadway, Cheektowaga, NY.

Description: This workshop will provide an opportunity for local health departments and community stakeholders to broaden their understanding of basic disability awareness. Additionally, participant’s knowledge and skills related to cultivating inclusive strategies for integrating the access and functional needs of at-risk individuals into emergency preparedness and response will be increased.

Target Audience in Western Region

  • Local health department personnel responsible for developing and implementing emergency plans

  • Members of the Emergency Management community

  • Community stakeholders who work with or advocate for individuals with access and functional needs such as hospitals, nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), state and local agencies such as Office for Aging, Independence Centers, Behavioral Health Services, etc.
