Living with Low Vision is a two-part program for adults new to vision loss, their family members, caregivers,and professionals and staff who work with the visually impaired. This workshop offered by the Center for the Visually Impaired will include: Vision 101-an overview of vision loss, a discussion of adaptive techniques and devices and a demonstration of Orientation and Mobility techniques for safe travel. Optical devices will be available for hands-on trial and purchase. Low Vision Clinic-Five low vision candidates will then be selected to attend the Low Vision Clinic for an evaluation and exam by an optometrist who specializes in low vision at no cost. This service will include training on techniques and devices that may assist with activities of daily living, Orientation and Mobility, and information on community services.
