 on is a two-part program for adults new to vision loss\, their family memb
 ers\, caregivers\,and professionals and staff who work with the visually i
 mpaired. This workshop offered by the Center for the Visually Impaired wil
 l include: Vision 101-an overview of vision loss\, a discussion of adaptiv
 e techniques and devices and a demonstration of Orientation and Mobility t
 echniques for safe travel. Optical devices will be available for hands-on 
 trial and purchase. Low Vision Clinic-Five low vision candidates will then
  be selected to attend the Low Vision Clinic for an evaluation and exam by
  an optometrist who specializes in low vision at no cost. This service wil
 l include training on techniques and devices that may assist with activiti
 es of daily living\, Orientation and Mobility\, and information on communi
 ty services.\n
