Julia Sain
Executive Director at the Disability Rights & Resources
Julia Sain has been working at Disability Rights & Resources (DR&R) in Charlotte, NC since 1984, becoming the Executive Director in 1997. She has performed state-wide, regional, and national training sessions on independent living philosophy, history of independent living, federally required standards, assurances and indicators, effective advocacy, and disability awareness. She has been chosen twice to review grants submitted to the US Department of Education and has assisted the US Department of Education in auditing three grantees for statutory compliance. She has served on the Board of Directors for the National Council on Independent Living as the Regional Representative for Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Mississippi.
