How I finally stopped being broke in Merge Mansion (Coins, Gems and Energy - my tips)

Alright, picture this: it's 2:14am, I'm nestled in a blanket burrito with my phone's brightness cranked to blinding, and I've just merged my 47 th little shovel into... another little shovel. My husband peeks at the screen and asks if I'm okay, and trust me, I was not okay. I was out of energy, had 12 coins in total, and Grandma's mansion was rubbing my nose in it.

If you've ever been staring at a closed door in Merge Mansion and thought, "There is no possible way I can afford to breathe in this game", my friend, hello, welcome to my club. We have jackets that cost 50 gems.

I've been playing this game for about two years, and I've come a long way in my Merge Mansion journey and transitioned from a confused auntie with too many saplings to a real Merge Mansion pro. Today I'm going to be sharing with you my tips for Coins, Gems and Energy so you can finally enjoy the relaxing gameplay of Merge Mansion without worrying about the next time an ad will pop up, or if you've merged at exactly 2am.

First, a confession: I used to play like a gremlin

Long ago, my strategy was as follows: tap, merge, panic, watch an ad, repeat.

The biggest change for me was realizing that Merge Mansion is about flow, not frantic clicking.

Once I realized this, everything was much easier. Another thing that helped was not merging at 2am... COINS: The "Hmm, I just need a little more" currency

Coins are the sneaky kind - they always seem to come just enough, until they don't. Here are my tips for getting more of them:

1. Don't ignore the boring merges!

I know, I know. Merging 300 little nails into a hammer doesn't sound very exciting. However, these are the kinds of merges that reward you with coins! Merge Mansion Free Coins My tip is to do a "cleanup lap" every time you're merging, just to get rid of the stuff that you don't really need. Trust me, it's more satisfying than it seems!

2. Tasks > Random merges

This one took me a while to learn, but if your task has a certain item you need, make it your priority. Don't just merge random stuff in the hope that you'll get coins out of it. I made a small list of the things I needed and had the ability to make, and it made my productivity skyrocket.

3. Sell strategically, not out of your head!

I used to hoard everything ever, but then I realized that my inventory was basically a garage sale. Now I sell off the stuff that I have duplicates of and the stuff I don't really need for the next few tasks. A good rule of thumb is to sell everything you don't need for the next 2-3 tasks.

4. Event rewards - a goldmine for coins!

Even if I don't care for the theme of an event, I always grind the early parts of it, because the rewards are always bountiful. I consider events to be bonus coin shifts. Merge Mansion Free Gems, Coins and Energy Personal anecdote: last month I was 400 coins short for unlocking a room, and a single cleanup lap of merges I'd been ignoring gave me 600 coins. I was a genius. My husband didn't think so, but I stand by my decision.

GEMS: The rare, shiny, "don't waste me" currency

Gems were where I used to make my biggest mistakes. I used them for energy refills at 11pm like a crazy gremlin. Don't be me.

1. Save gems for permanent value things!

My rule of thumb is to spend gems on things that last, like inventory expansions, or major story reveals. Energy refills are a luxury, not a necessity.

2. Watch ads, but draw a line!

I allow myself a "ad block" once a day, which consists of 10-15 minutes of watching ads while I have my coffee. After that, I stop. If I keep going, I start spending gems on things I don't really need.

3. Avoid every shiny promotion!

They might seem shiny, but some are traps. I only buy things if I was going to do them anyway. If I feel pressured to buy, I don't, period.

4. Complete achievements quietly!

I didn't realize how many gem rewards came with achievements until I looked. Merge Mansion Free Energy, Coins and Gems Codes Now I check the achievement list every few days to see if there are any free gems I've missed.

My personal ritual for gems is to imagine that every time I get them, I'm putting them in a jar. And every time I spend them, it's a break in the jar. And we don't want that, do we? ENERy: The eternal struggle!

Energy is, without a doubt, the boss fight of Merge Mansion. Here are my tips for not running out of it at the worst times.

1. Play in sessions, not marathons!

I play in 20-30 minute sessions, and stop. When I used to play for hours, it would make me feel drained, but also make bad decisions. Short sessions mean better decisions and energy regeneration.

2. Prioritize high-value tasks!

Some tasks bear way better fruit for less energy. I like to prioritize the tasks that give me the most for the least. It's kind of like the chores you do first in real life.

3. Merge smart, not hard!

Merging higher-level items sometimes takes less energy to make progress than merging lower-level ones. I do careful merges to save energy. Think "efficiency" instead of "productivity".

4. Use energy boosts wisely!

When I use an energy boost, I make sure to plan my tasks beforehand. This way, I don't just burn energy for no reason. I'm not saying it's wrong to, but it did make me feel like a disorganized little gremlin. (Been there, done that, not cute.)

5. Be afraid to walk away sometimes!

Sometimes the best thing you can do is let energy regenerate. Touch grass. Come back later. The mansion will always be waiting for you.

Personal anecdote: I once spent 80 energy trying to force a merge that wasn't even required for my current task. I said out loud (in all seriousness) "Why am I like this?" My cat judges me. She was right. My "Lazy Gamer" daily routine (steal this if you want) If you want to see what I do most days as a Merge Mansion player, here it is!

Morning (5 min): Collect daily rewards, check tasks, do a couple quick merges.

Coffee break (10-15 min): Watch ads, collect event rewards, do a cleanup lap.

Evening (20 min): Focus session - work on 1-2 specific tasks, merge efficiently, stop before I get tired.

That's it. No grindfests, no 2am panic attacks, just a steady stream of progress. A few "don'ts" I've learned the hard way

Don't merge everything on sight. Just because you can doesn't mean you should.

Don't spend gems on energy unless you really, really need to. Future you will be mad.

Don't ignore the story. Sometimes it's more useful to do the tasks in the order that they come in the story.

Don't compare your progress to your friends. Someone on Reddit has a maxed mansion and a PhD in merging. You're doing fine.

Final thoughts (and a pep talk) Merge Mansion is meant to be fun. If it starts feeling like a second job, take a break. Do a few merges, enjoy the little "ding" sounds, and let Grandma's mansion unfold at its own pace. I still have days where I feel broke and out of energy, but now I know how to bounce back without spiraling. And honestly, that's a win. If you have any questions or want my feedback on something, leave a comment below! And if anyone sees me at 2am again... no you didn't. 😉
