If you play Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links, you’ve probably had the heartbreak of opening up a pack, revealing the one card that you only needed one copy of, and promptly losing all of your Gems in the span of a few seconds. We’ve all had our “one more pack” moments. Thankfully, I’ve learned a few tricks to help boost my Duel Links Gem collection without having to spend a fortune or resort to shady methods like trusting a guy named DuelKing_Real_Official with my account credentials. Just to clarify: I don’t use any third-party sites, programs or generators to get Duel Links Gems – only my own personal gaming strategies. Here is how I personally get and maintain my Duel Links Gems:
1. I Prioritize Stage Missions
Stage Missions are some of the most overlooked ways to earn Duel Links Gems. Every time I reach a new stage in either Speed Duel or Rush Duel, I get a list of missions that reward me with Gems upon completion. Examples of these are: Win a set amount of duels, deal a set amount of effect damage, summon a specific monster type or monster, win a duel with a specific character, use a set amount of cards or mechanics, and completing a Character Unlock mission.
I used to dread some of these missions because they forced me to use a deck that I didn’t want to use or play a character that I didn’t really like. However, I learned that it is very easy to overlook a steady source of income because it is ‘boring’ or ‘not worth it’.
My tip for completing these missions is to build a ‘Mission Deck’. It doesn’t have to be a good deck – in fact, it probably won’t be a good deck – but if you need to use spell cards, deal burn damage, tribute summon, or any other mechanic, build your deck around fulfilling the requirements of the mission. You might feel like you are playing as some lazy NPC, but those Gems will add up nonetheless!
2. Character Leveling is my Favorite Source of Gems
If you have a ton of characters that you rarely use, then consider yourself poor. Characters reward you with a plethora of Gems as you level them up, especially lower level characters! I try to avoid level locking my favorite characters as much as possible in order to gain those sweet, sweet Gems. My tip for character leveling is to rotate between characters that you can level up rather than focusing on just one character. What I do is I find a character with a low level, build a decent deck around them, and play against Standard Duelists, the Duel Gate, events, or PvP to get their level up. Once their level has increased enough and their rewards are minimal, I move on to the next character. The first time I did this, I had multiple characters with low levels because I barely used them after initially obtaining them. It felt like I found loose change in every pair of jeans I owned!
If you are pressed for time, Auto Dueling against Standard Duelists is a decent way to level up most characters, although I would not recommend it for ranked PvP or anything else important, since the AI has made some pretty questionable choices in my opinion. If you just want to grind, though, it gets the job done.
3. I Always Play Events, Even if I Don’t Want the Reward Card
When a new event comes out, it almost always provides some sort of reward for completing it. Most of these events reward Gems, whether it is through point milestones, mission rewards, daily rewards, event bingo board, or rank up rewards. Even if I don’t want the event character’s best card or the event card itself, I always play through events to get the extra Gems. Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links Hack Free Gems mod apk Codes You never know how many Gems you will get if you decide to play through an event! My tip for getting extra Gems through Events is to always do the event missions or get event points even if you aren’t planning on doing the whole event. Most of the time it is fairly easy to get some extra Gems even if you only do the bare minimum of an event. It is much easier to level up and earn Gems than it is to grind through an entire event for one card. Just keep in mind that events sometimes have a variety of rewards and point milestones, so don’t be surprised if you end up with more Gems than you expected!
4. I Earn Gems through Daily and Lifetime Missions
Most of the time, daily missions don’t give you a ton of Gems at once, but I always try to do them if I am going to be playing the game anyway. When you log in, I always check my daily missions to see what I can do to earn some extra Gems. Many of them are just straightforward duels or using specific cards or monsters. Some of them might require you to duel in Ranked PvP, so you should always keep that in mind. If I have nothing to do, I might just do a couple daily missions to earn some extra Gems. I also check my lifetime missions every now and then because there are usually a ton of milestones that I didn’t even realize I completed. It feels great when you complete a mission and it says “You have received ??? Gems as a reward for completing your ??? lifetime mission!” It feels like finding a gift card in an old pair of jeans, really!
So yeah, I am that guy who constantly checks my missions and does them religiously.
5. I Play PvP Ranked Duels
Rank PvP Duels are another great way to earn Gems. You can get rewards from Rank Up, Season rewards, and certain missions. You don’t have to be super competitive and reach Rank 1 every month to reap the benefits of Ranked PvP Duels. Yu-Gi-Oh Free Gems mod Codes Personal Guide My personal strategy for Ranked PvP is to steadily climb the ladder rather than trying to push myself too hard and burnout. Trust me, there is nothing worse than losing three coin flips in a row, opening with all monsters and no backrow, and thinking to yourself “Maybe I should just quit the game and uninstall it”.
I play a few PvP duels every day and try to keep my composure. I use decks that I know well and steadily climb the ladder instead of trying to challenge myself with crazy decks that I barely understand. Even if I don’t reach a high rank, I still get Gems and other rewards from climbing the ladder. It always pays to play some PvP duels!
6. KC Cup, Events, and Campaigns are Great for Extra Gems
Whenever a KC Cup match, campaign, or special event comes up, I always try to participate. These are some of the best times to get extra Gems in the game. The KC Cup in particular gives you a lot of rewards if you put in the effort, though I usually don’t push myself too hard to get the top prize. I usually tell myself “I’ll just get to the next stage and claim the rewards” and be satisfied with my results. Sometimes the game also gives you free Gems through login rewards, special campaigns, world releases, or anniversaries. I wouldn’t suggest logging in every single day just to get a couple extra Gems, but it always helps to log in and claim what you can.
7. I Always Keep Track of My Gem Cap
This tip is pretty boring, but it is very important to keep track of your Gem cap. If you have a lot of Gems stacked up near the top of your cap, it is possible that extra Gems will go into your Gift Box with an expiration date on them. This means that you could potentially lose Gems that you worked hard to earn if they expire. I know, I know – This tip is super boring, but I have almost lost a decent amount of Gems because of it. I had been saving up for a while to buy a specific box, and I casually looked at my Duel Links screen to see how many Gems I had. When I saw my number, I was ecstatic – until I remembered that I had a bunch of expired Gems in my gift box. Now I always check my gift box when I have a lot of Gems to make sure that I don’t lose any precious Gems due to a full Gem cap. It only takes ten seconds and can save you from potentially losing Gems in the future!
8. The Best Way to Earn Gems is to Not Waste Them
This tip is not really a tip for earning Gems, but it is still a very important tip to have. I used to waste a lot of Gems on random packs that I didn’t really want or need. Whenever there was a new starter deck, archetype, or just a cool looking card, I would spend my Gems on it just because it looked cool. This led to me getting 47 completely unrelated cards that I had no interest in.
Nowadays, I think to myself about whether I really want to spend my hard-earned Gems on that cool looking pack. Do I really want to build a deck around it? Will I need multiple cards from that specific starter deck? Is it a main deck or a mini deck that I will have to open many times? Will this deck style allow me to play the way I want to play? Am I spending Gems on this pack because I have a plan… or am I just bored?
Sometimes the best decision is not to open that pack and save your Gems for something that you really want instead of multiple things that you barely want.
My Simple Guide to Getting Gems If I Am Going to Play the Game Anyways
If I am going to play the game, here are the things that I do in order to get Gems:
Clear a few Stage Missions
Level up a character that still gives Gems
Do event missions and get event points
Check my daily and lifetime missions
Play a few Ranked PvP Duels
Claim the gifts before they expire
Don’t open random packs at 1:00 AM (This last one is a personal preference)
As you can see, the best way to get Gems in Yu Gi Oh! Duel Links is to use a steady combination of the above strategies. If you combine Stage Missions, Character Leveling, Event Missions, Ranked PvP Duels, KC Cups, and not wasting Gems, you are sure to accumulate a healthy amount of Gems. Just be sure to get the rewards that you work for and don’t spend all of your hard-earned Gems on something that you barely want. Unless it is your favorite monster, then I guess it is okay.
