How To Get Simoleons and SimCash In SimCity BuildIt - My Personal Hacks

Y'know, the "It's 1 AM, I was ONLY gonna check my cargo shipments for five minutes" curse. The "Oh. I have one free expansion slot... just ONE more tile." curse. The "My Sims need a hospital, I cannot in good conscience leave them like this" curse.

Yes. I've been a proud SimCity BuildIt gremlin for many, many years now. And out of all of the struggles us Mayors will ever go through, none has haunted me more than the gut wrenching moment where you pull up your bank and all you're left with is a measly 5,000 Simoleons while your entire city is demanding a Fire Station at the exact same time.

Oooof.

If you've ever laid in your bed staring at your broke little city in despair, this post is for you. These are all of the tricks I've picked up over the years through a LOT of trial and error. Mostly error, if I'm being honest with ya.

Getting More Simoleons (AKA: How To Stop Being Flat Broke)

Simoleons are the thing you will ALWAYS need. No matter how big your city gets, that number will never feel big enough. Trust me, I have a population of 150k+ and I still get the cold sweats when I wanna expand.

1. Let Your Population Work For You

This one sounds obvious, I know. But for the longest time as a newbie, I was so obsessed with making my city PRETTY that I forgot the golden rule: Taxes feed your city.

Simcity Buildit Free Simoleons and SimCash Codes The higher your population, the more tax income you rake in every day. Focus on keeping your Sims happy. Good happiness = more people moving in = that sweet, sweet daily tax flow. I'd much rather have a slightly chunky looking suburb booming with people, than a gorgeous empty block making me $0 an hour.

2. Keep Those Production Chains Running

One of the biggest lessons I learned the hard way: Never let your factories sit completely empty if you're about to log off for the day.

Before I go to bed every night, I always make sure I have something cooking in my Industrial buildings. I don't care if it's the simplest thing like metal or plastic, it's free money while I'm snoozing away in my nice, warm bed. Meanwhile my little Sim workers are pulling overtime for their sleep-deprived Mayor. I appreciate them for that.

3. Master The Global Trade HQ

Oh boy. The Trade HQ is both a blessing, and the most evil auction house known to mankind.

Simcity Buildit mod Free Simoleons and SimCash Codes My biggest piece of advice here? Sell what is in demand, NOT just what you have a ton of. If everybody is selling Bricks for dirt cheap, do NOT be like sleep-deprived Past-Me and dump all of your stock in with them. You'll want to check the current prices for a minute or two and sell your high-tier goods when the demand is actually decent.

Also, pro tip from someone who has been absolutely roasted for this: Do NOT sell your entire stock of something in one big panicking click at 2 AM. I once, in my half asleep gamer brain, dumped ALL of my Steel onto Trade for way under market value. To this day my old Club still brings up "The Great Steel Massacre of 2022" and I will never live it down. Rude. Completely deserved, but rude.

4. Always Do Your Cargo Shipments & Special Events

I will never skip a Cargo Ship order if I can help it. Those things throw Simoleons at you like you're their favorite Mayor, especially the big ones that want a bunch of items at once.

Same goes for Seasonal Events and the Contest of Mayors. I don't care if I don't place #1 every time, even getting a mid-tier reward from those events has bailed my broke behind out of so many "oh no I need to expand" crises.

5. Don't Be Afraid To Stockpile Goods

This is one of my personal quirks. I hoard. I'm a digital dragon. If I have extra materials, I will hold onto them instead of instantly dumping them for pocket change.

Why? Because nine times out of ten, an event is gonna pop up outta nowhere the very next day demanding 40 units of exactly the item I would've just sold for chump change. The amount of Simoleons I've saved by being an unashamed little hoarder is actually insane.

Getting More SimCash (AKA: The Dragon's Hoarded Gold)

Ohhhh SimCash... This currency is hoarded by EA like Smaug guards his mountain of gold. I love this game with my entire soul, but SimCash is stingy and I will stand by that statement.

So with this one, we gotta be patient little Mayors. No buying sketchy "generators", ever. Just good ol' free gameplay.

1. Daily Challenges Are Your Bread And Butter

I make it a ritual. Every single morning before I even get my coffee, I open SimCity BuildIt and knock out my Daily Challenges. It's muscle memory at this point. A few minutes a day for free SimCash that stacks up SO fast over the course of a month. Free money. I will never say no to free money.

2. Prioritize Events. ESPECIALLY Seasonal Ones.

If you only ever grind one thing for SimCash, let it be the Seasonal Events. These tend to give out the biggest chunks of SimCash by far compared to anything else in the game. I will happily play a little extra for a few days if it means I can get a nice pile of it at the end.

3. Contest Of Mayors Is Worth The Hustle

I get weirdly competitive with Contest of Mayors lmao. I'm never expecting Top 3, I'm a chill Mayor over here. But even placing decently can net you some SimCash. Plus, it gives me the perfect excuse to tell my friends "I must defend my honor as Mayor this week." They think I'm joking. I'm not.

4. Join An Active Club

This is my BIGGEST recommendation for SimCash. Find a nice, active Club and actually participate in Club Wars.

I got insanely lucky and joined the sweetest club full of absolute legends that actually help each other out. The War Chests add up over time and have given me a very hefty chunk of SimCash throughout the years. Also, having people to roast you over your 2 AM Steel Incident makes the grind ten times more fun. I cannot stress this enough.

5. Save It. I MEAN IT. Save Your SimCash.

This is the most important SimCash tip I will ever give anybody. RESIST THE URGE.

Every fiber of your gamer soul is gonna be screaming at you to use your hard earned SimCash to speed up that 8 hour production or rush that expansion the second you're impatient. I have fallen victim to this at 1 AM with the sleep deprivation goggles on. I still regret the handful of times I wasted a big chunk of it on speed-ups instead of saving it for something actually useful.

My rule now? I treat SimCash like emergency Mayor Funds. I only spend it when I actually need to, not when I'm being impatient and hangry.

My Final Two Cents As A Proud Mayor Gremlin

At the end of the day, SimCity BuildIt isn't a race. It's a slow, cozy, oddly addicting build-a-city-and-ruin-your-sleep type of game. I've built cities I was proud of, I've had my bank account hit absolute rock bottom, I've rebuilt entire districts because I thought "hm, this road looks ugly now", and I would do it all over again.

My biggest personal tip of all? Play in bursts. Get your queues going, do your dailies, check trades, then go live your life. Your Sims will patiently be producing screws while you go eat some actual food. I say this as someone who has forgotten to eat dinner for two hours because I was "just organizing my industrial zone" far too many times.
