Look, we’ve all been there. You log in, you see a brand-new Step-Up banner for a character you’ve been dreaming of since the manga arc dropped five years ago, and you look at your diamond count. 42. Just 42. You could cry. I have cried. (Okay, maybe just a single, manly tear of gamer salt, but still).

Since I am a proudly Free-to-Play (F2P) player—mostly because my wallet physically recoils when I look at the in-game shop—I’ve had to get creative. So, I’m sharing my personal, slightly chaotic, but totally functional guide to farming Rainbow Diamonds and Coins in OPBR.

Okay, it’s not glamorous, but the Daily Missions are your bread and butter. Every single day, you can get 30 Rainbow Diamonds just by doing the basics: winning a few matches, upgrading a character, and doing a treasure map.

I usually hover around A-Rank or B-Rank. It’s not Pirate King, but the 150 to 200 diamonds I get at the end of the season just for trying? Absolutely worth the stress of getting chased by a Shanks across Treasure Town.

4. Events, Anniversaries, and Campaigns (The Big Bucks!)

This is where the real F2P whales are made. Bandai Namco is actually pretty generous during major events.

• Login Campaigns: Just open the app. That’s it. During anniversaries, they will literally hand you hundreds of diamonds just for breathing and logging in for 10 days straight.
• Special Events: Always read the event tabs! There are usually limited-time missions (like "Defeat 10 enemies using Striker characters") that payout 50-100 diamonds each.
• The "Returner" Bonus: Okay, this is a weird hack, but if you have a friend who quit the game, tell them to come back! The game gives massive diamond bonuses to returning players, and sometimes you get referral bonuses too.

5. What About Coins? (The Unsung Hero)

• Treasure Map (Again): Don't ignore the coin tiles on the early levels of the map. They add up.

Two years ago, I had saved up 1,200 Rainbow Diamonds. I felt rich. I felt invincible. Then, a random banner for a character I kinda liked dropped. "I'll just do a few pulls," I whispered to myself.

Do not spend your diamonds on the standard banner. Do not spend them on characters you don't absolutely love. Save them for the Dream Festival (DF) banners or the Anniversary Step-Ups where the pity system is actually forgiving. Patience is a pirate's best weapon.

 

Getting Rainbow Diamonds and Coins in OPBR as a F2P player is a marathon, not a sprint. It’s about logging in, doing your chores, surviving the Treasure Map's cruelty, and having the iron willpower to save.

But man, when you finally hit that 600-diamond pity on a Dream Fest banner and the screen flashes rainbow? Best feeling in the world.
