How to Get Zombie Waves in-game Diamonds (My Personal Tips

Go here: Get Zombie Waves Free Diamonds Codes

I’ve bought my fair share of gems packs, and I’ve also done the slow, agonizing free-to-play walk of shame. I’ve been on both sides of the diamond divide.

And you know what? I finally cracked the code. Or at least, cracked my controller angrily enough that the game decided to reward me out of pity. 😅

I’m not here to sell you some “hack” or “glitch” that’ll get you banned in three seconds. Nope. I’m here to share the actual, grindy, slightly embarrassing personal tricks that I use to make my diamond pile look less like a sad little puddle and more like a small, respectable pond.

Let’s dive into the zombie guts.

Tip #1: The "Night Shift" Method (My Secret Weapon)

Okay, I have no idea if the game’s algorithm actually likes this, but it feels real, so it’s real in my heart. I call this the "Night Shift Blitz."

One midnight, I was half-asleep, caffeine jittery, and just mindlessly grinding a level I’ve beaten a thousand times. I wasn’t paying attention. I was watching a rerun of The Office on my other monitor. My character was basically on autopilot.Zombie Waves Free Diamonds Tips

And then… the diamond drops went crazy.

I’m talking three huge diamond bundles in one wave. My sleepy eyes shot wide open. I’ve tried to replicate this, and my theory? Play when you don’t care.

When you’re not sweating it, not needing every single gem, the game gods smile upon you. Go in with the intention of just "messing around." Use a weird weapon loadout you never use. Try to beat a level using only the baseball bat. The game wants to reward the chaos. Be chaotic.

Personal Anecdote: I once tried to beat a boss using only the game’s starter pistol for 15 minutes. I failed spectacularly. But in my failure, I got 40 diamonds from a random crate. I’ll never forget my shame and my victory.

Tip #2: The "Piggy Bank" Event (Don't Touch It!)

I know, I know. You see that little red dot on the event icon. Your finger twitches. It’s a biological reflex.

STOP.

You know that event where you collect a certain number of kills or keys, and you get a countdown until you get a big diamond reward? DO NOT COLLECT THEM IMMEDIATELY.

I did this for weeks. I’d get the 50/50 kills, collect my 5 diamonds, and move on. Loser behavior! 😤

Here’s the trick: Let the events stack.

If an event requires 200 kills for a 10-diamond reward, don’t touch it until you’ve done every single task for that event. Some events have a “chain” of rewards. When you collect a small one, it resets the timer on the bigger one.

I literally started a little post-it note on my monitor: “DO NOT COLLECT SMALL DIAMONDS. BE PATIENT, YOU IMPATIENT GOBLIN.” It works. You get the big end-of-event lump sum, which feels way better than a bunch of tiny drops.

Tip #3: The "Daily Devil's Deal"

Yeah, yeah, everyone says to do your dailies. But are you doing the spicy dailies?

I have a rule. Every day, I do the hardest daily task first. The one you don’t want to do. The “Kill 500 zombies with a rubber chicken” level. (Okay, not that specific, but you get the vibe.)

For some reason, the game’s algorithm respects hustle. I swear the game has a hidden “Effort Meter.” When I do the grindy, annoying task first (that usually gives a flat 15 diamonds), the next daily I do—the easy one—drops a bonus gem bundle.

I call it "Sweat Equity." You have to sweat a little to get the sparkly rocks.

Funny story: I got so used to doing the hard daily first that I once tried eating breakfast in real life before having coffee. I was very grumpy. The game has rewired my brain.

Tip #4: The "Don't Buy the Big Pack" Confession

I’m a sucker for a good bomb pack. You know the ones: “Buy this huge diamond pack and get a weapon upgrade!”

Don’t.

Seriously. I’ve spent real money on those. I felt cool for about ten minutes. Then I had the weapon, but the game felt… empty. The fun is the chase.

Here’s my real diamond-earning hack: Buy the small, cheap bundles that give you a tiny diamond boost and an energy refill.

Why? Because 99% of my diamond income comes from playing the game, not buying it. I need energy to grind. So I buy the $0.99 energy refill every few days. I never buy the $19.99 pack. The $0.99 pack lets me play longer, which means more loot, which means more diamonds. It’s the slow road, but it’s the fun road.

Tip #5: The "Go Touch Grass" Paradox

This is the most hypocritical tip I’ll ever give you. And also the most true.

The best way to get diamonds in Zombie Waves is to stop playing Zombie Waves.

Okay, hear me out. You know those log-in bonuses where you get free diamonds just for coming back? Or the “Play for 7 days straight” purple diamond reward?

If you grind too hard, you burn out. You get the 4x energy boost, you play for four hours, you get 50 diamonds. You’re miserable.

But if you pace yourself? If you play for 30 minutes, get your daily reward, then close the app and go make a sandwich? You’ll come back tomorrow to a game that wants to reward your loyalty. The welcome-back bonus diamonds are often bigger than a whole session of grinding.

The Quirky Truth: I earn more diamonds when I’m a casual player than when I’m a sweaty tryhard.

So there you have it. My weird, slightly contradictory, very personal guide to getting diamonds in Zombie Waves. There’s no magic button (if only! 🪄). It’s about playing smart, being patient, and occasionally being a little bit dumb and lucky.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got a date with a Level 35 boss and a starter pistol. For science.

Happy zombie hunting, you beautiful diamond hoarders. 💎🧟‍♂️
