Los Angeles Superior Court is seeking dynamic, well-qualified, and highly-motivated individuals to fill the position of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator within its Legal Services department based in Los Angeles, California.

Los Angeles Superior Court is the largest unified trial court in the United States with nearly 600 courtrooms presided over by 550 bench officers and 4,500 full-time employees. The Court has 38 Court locations, serving 88 cities, and 118 law enforcement agencies countywide.

The incumbent in this single position classification is assigned to the Office of Court Counsel, reports to Court Counsel, and serves as the designated point of contact for non-employee accommodation requests, with a primary emphasis on coordinating efforts with Court administration and personnel to maintain Court facilities and services accessibility, as well as ensuring compliance with ADA and other pertinent acts, regulations, and legal provisions. As such, the incumbent is responsible for performing assorted and difficult administrative professional functions, such as collaborating with Court administration on the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Court's ADA plan and related policies and procedures; serving as the primary resource for courthouse ADA coordinators; developing policies and procedures for the centralized submission of accommodation requests; obtaining, reviewing or developing various forms, and informational materials; training  Court personnel on accommodation requirements and related legal developments; developing and implementing tools to track and analyze data; surveying facilities to identify needs and potential risks, as well as ensuring access compliance; receiving, reviewing, and analyzing accommodation requests to identify cost-effective alternatives; and serving as a liaison to external groups and individual stakeholders. In addition, the incumbent is required to develop, maintain, and exercise expertise on the ADA, Department of Justice regulations, Rule 1.100, the Unruh Act, and all access obligations.
