Assisted Living Tidbits:
Although Arizona is a prime location for the Elderly and Senior population, in the summer, especially in Phoenix, and in the desert regions, temperatures can often times exceed 120 degrees. Unfortunately, every summer, numerous deaths are reported due to faulty air conditioning systems – and many of these victims are of the elderly. Please make sure your air conditioning is working well in the summer months.
Interesting questions and comments we have received about assisted living in Arizona:
Q: My father who has Parkinson’s and Dementia, only collects social security. He has zero other income. He has been living with me for the last 4 years. Not that his health is going downhill very quickly he needs to be put in a home where someone can keep an eye on him and administer his medications, etc. His social security I believe won’t cover the cost of assisted living. What does ALTCS cover? What can I do, I am desperate. – Tommy
Q: Looking for help with my mother in law. She is in need of assisted living, but everyone we reach out to says she isn’t old/disabled enough to qualify. Just went thru a 6 month process trying to get help from the state with no luck. I would appreciate any suggestions. – Monique
