Signage
Where assistive listening systems are required, signs must be provided to notify patrons of ALS availability. This sign must include the international symbol of access to assistive listening systems (specified in
4.30.7). Signs are subject to requirements in
4.30 for character proportion (
4.30.2) and height (
4.30.3) and sign finish and contrast (
4.30.5).
Recommendations: Signs should include appropriate messages based on the type of system provided, such as "Infrared Assistive Listening System Available -- Please Ask," "Audio Loop in Use/ Turn T-Switch for Better Hearing or Ask for Help," or "FM Assistive Listening System Available -- Please Ask." It's helpful to indicate on the sign where devices are available.
