Description

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) will turn twenty-five on July 26, 2015. And a big anniversary deserves a BIG celebration! That's why we're partnering with individuals and organizations around the country to prepare for 2015. How will YOU celebrate?

July 21st is the day the ADA Legacy Bus Tour will arrive in Detroit’s Eastern Market. Events inside Shed 3 begin at 10 AM and will end sometime after 3. There are some great things planned. Baba Collins and his Kuungana African Drum and Dance Co; the Wild Swan Theatre performing Frog and Toad with a mixed Deaf and hearing cast at 2;  Ebony, Ivory, and Strawberry – a duo accompanied by keyboard; Chair Yoga at noon, an opportunity to Tell Your Story about how the ADA has impacted your life throughout the day; a photography exhibit by Tom Olin, resource tables from all over Michigan;  Zumba at 1,  a photo booth, face painter, firefighter clown squad, and so much more!

We have a lot of special guests throughout the day. Debbie and John Dingell at 10, Kevin Tolbert at 12 followed by Ms Wheelchair Michigan, Circuit Judge Deborah Thomas at 1:30, and Liz Bauer at various times. More, yet to be confirmed.

The ADA Legacy Tour is rolling across the country raising awareness and building excitement toward ADA25 - the 25th anniversary of the ADA in 2015! The Tour includes:
