Dates/Time: July 31, 2016 - August 4, 2016

Location: At the state capitol, Columbus, Ohio

Description: A five day leadership training program for 11th and 12th grade high school students with disabilities. Student delegates will learn about choosing a career, history of disability as a culture, technology and resources, and self and systems advocacy.  They will be introduced to professionals with disabilities and have an opportunity to develop their own “Personal Leadership Plan” to be used to reach goals in education, employment and the community.

  • Forty plus (40+) high school juniors and seniors with disabilities will be selected to attend.

  • No charge to selected student delegates (all expenses paid).

  • Exciting, fun, educational four-day training program includes meeting with government officials, tour of the State Capitol, and exciting programs with community leaders and celebrities.

Student applicants must mail the completed application packet to the Governor’s Council staff office - postmarked no later than March 31, 2016. Applicants will receive a letter confirming that their application materials were received.
