Employer Engagement Strategies and Effective Job Development: A Multidimensional Approach

2:00 pm - 2:45 pm EDT, September 08, 2016   |   Organized by: Work Support of Virginia Commonwealth University

Description

Date/Time: Thursday September 8, 2016 from 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm Eastern Time

Location: Webinar

Description: Work is the most effective and efficient means for individuals with and without disabilities to have a life of meaning, connections, and value.  Work also forms the bridge to a life “well-lived”.  While definitions of employer engagement vary based on programmatic beliefs, recent practices have illuminated methodologies that result in quality outcomes when developing interest-based jobs.  Best-practices in competitive and integrated employment will form the structure for this training while story telling will humanize examples of quality outcomes.  Additionally, we will examine the principles from which we provide support to individuals with disabilities to have a life that includes work.
