2015 FAER Conference - Connecting the Dots

The goal of the 2015 FAER Conference is to foster connections between those providing services to Floridian’s who are blind or visually impaired.
 
Join us at the Hyatt Regency Riverfront, in Jacksonville, Florida, on September 30 – October 2, 2015,  as we “Connect the Dots” between agencies, school districts, families, consumer groups, professional organizations, and community service providers that deliver services to Floridian’s with visual impairments.   At FAER, we bring together some of the state’s most productive leaders, creative teachers, and leading visionaries to share their insights! 

Discover the FAER Experience:
 
Wednesday, September 30, will offer three-hour interactive sessions.  Confirmed sessions include Orientation and Mobility, professional practices, and the implementation of Unified English Braille in Florida.  The opening session will be a panel discussion with individuals across all ages and service deliveries.  Join us as we hear what is working in Florida!

Thursday and Friday conference speakers and topics include: Lou Tutt, President of AER, Jennifer Brooks addressing short-term memory loss in O&M lessons, starting goalball in your area, technology, low vision devices, braille music literacy, how Quality Programs for the Visually Impaired (QPVI) has impacted school districts, the APH Sensory Learning Kit, and more. 
 
On Thursday afternoon, there will be a two-hour “Connect the Dots with the People in Your Area” session.  These regional meetings will give you an opportunity to connect with  people from DBS, schools, community agencies, families, organizations, and specialized projects.   There will be time to network, share success stories, meet new people, and learn more about the services available in your area and statewide. 
 
Included in your conference registration is access to the vendor hall on Thursday, continental breakfast (Thursday and Friday), a reception Thursday evening, and the 2015 awards luncheon on Friday.
 
Who Should Attend FAER?

FAER welcomes all partners serving Floridian’s who are blind or visually impaired, regardless of FAER membership. There are sessions specific to teachers working with students PreK -12th grade, agency personnel, orientation and mobility instructors, rehabilitation teachers, administrators, etc. 

FAER Is offering a special conference rate that INCLUDES a one-year membership for those interested in joining FAER or if your membership has lapsed for more than three years.  This combination will save you approximately $65.00 on conference registration and FAER membership!!  Continue to registration for more information!
