Shannon M. Mulhall, CASI

Mission Statement:

Shannon M. Mulhall, NIC, ADAC, CASp, is the Americans with Disabilities Act Coordinator for the City of Fresno, CA and owner of Green Light Accessibility Consulting. She graduated from California State University, Fresno with a Bachelor of Arts in Communicative Disorders and Deaf Studies with an emphasis in Interpreting and completed her ADA Coordinator Certification through the University of Missouri. Mulhall is a certified sign language interpreter and Certified Access Specialist. She approaches all aspects of accessibility with an encouraging educational focus and an emphasis on the positive role everyone can play in providing equal opportunities to all members of the public.

Mulhall has a wide range of experience presenting in-person and online for entities including but not limited to the ADA National Network, National ADA Symposium, CSUN National Center on Deafness, CSUN Assistive Technology Conference, California Council of the Blind, Citizen Corp/CERT, Safe + Ready Institute, International Public Safety Association, Central CA Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, and Resources for Independence, Central Valley. She develops and conducts staff trainings on a reoccurring basis, partners with local community organizations serving individuals with disabilities to provide community education seminars, and is regularly requested to guest lecturer in courses at local colleges and universities on topics related to ADA and inclusion.

Mulhall actively serves the community in a variety of ways, including participation on the Health Net State Wide Public Policy Committee, State Center Community College District Disabled Students Services Advisory Council, Fresno County Voter Accessibility Advisory Committee, Citizen Corps Council, Special Programs Chair for Certified Access Specialist Institute, Co-Facilitator of the Joint Access and Functional Needs Work Group, and a participant in the Fresno County Food Policy Council, Transportation, Land Use and Government Regulation Workgroup. She previously served as Chair of the Earthquake Country Alliance Seniors & People with Disabilities Committee and on the Central California Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf as the Publications Chair and Emergency Preparedness Chair. She is keenly interested in exploring ways to expand community outreach, website/technology accessibility, whole community preparedness, and effective communication.
