 in outdoor environments has long been a source of inquiry due to challenge
 s and constraints posed by terrain\, the degree of development\, construct
 ion practices and materials\, and other factors.  In 2013\, the Access Bo
 ard issued new accessibility standards for outdoor developed areas\, inclu
 ding trails\, beach access routes\, picnic and camping areas\, on federal 
 sites covered by the Architectural Barriers Act (ABA). The Board also publ
 ished a guide to assist designers\, owners\, and operators in the use of t
 hese standards. This session will provide an overview of the standards for
  federal outdoor developed areas\, highlighting some of the material in th
 e guide.  Participants are encouraged to submit questions in advance.\n\n
