 e next webinar in the U.S. Access Board's free monthly series will take pl
 ace November 5 from 2:30 – 4:00 (ET) and will cover access to trails. Th
 is session will review requirements for trails that the Board issued in 20
 13 as part of a supplementary rule on outdoor areas developed by the feder
 al government. These provisions\, while applicable to national parks and o
 ther federal lands covered by the Architectural Barriers Act\, can be used
  as a resource in addressing access to trails on other types of sites. Rep
 resentatives from the Board and the National Park Service will conduct the
  session.\n\nIt’s been almost 2 years since accessibility standards beca
 me effective for trails on Federal land covered by the Architectural Barri
 ers Act (ABA). Following the effective date\, the Board published a guideb
 ook to assist trail designers and operators when applying the provisions. 
 This session will provide an overview of the federal trail provisions\, hi
 ghlighting some of the material in the new guidebook. A trail expert with 
 the National Park Service\, Flagstaff Area National Monuments will also of
 fer some “on the ground experiences” of applying the standards to newl
 y constructed trails and the alteration of existing trails. Session partic
 ipants are encouraged to submit questions in advance.\n\nFor more informat
