 ed through:\n\n\n	\n	Increasing public understanding of the social and eco
 nomic gains to individuals and to society though providing opportunities f
 or all persons who are blind and visually impaired to become self-sufficie
 nt\, self-supporting\, and contributing members of the society.\n	\n	\n	Pr
 oviding a forum on a state and local level for the discussion of all issue
 s relating to services to persons who are blind and visually impaired and 
 the prevention of visual impairments and providing publications and confer
 ences relating to this purpose.\n	\n	\n	Encouraging an interdisciplinary a
 pproach to programs or services to persons who are blind and visually impa
 ired through the maximum use of knowledge and skills of all related profes
 sions.\n	\n	\n	Advance knowledge and skill for the improvement of service 
 to all persons who are blind and visually impaired.\n	\n	\n	Initiating and
  cooperating with other groups in the development of programs of social ac
 tion for the benefit of persons who are blind and visually impaired.\n	\n	
 \n	Increasing public understanding of the nature and cause of visual impai
 rment and its impact on individuals on society.\n	\n	\n	The TAER qualifies
  as an exempt organization under section 501 (c) of the internal revenue c
