DESCRIPTION:Listen to Me! Summer Institute\nThe Listen to Me! Summer Instit
 ute is an intensive one-week training program for children\, families\, an
 d professionals to learn how to foster listening and spoken language devel
 opment with cochlear implants.\n\nCHILDREN participate in an auditory-oral
  class setting and receive daily listening and spoken language therapy ses
 sions.\n\nPARENTS participate in educational presentations\, therapy and c
 lass observations\, role-playing for implementing goals at home\, and a pa
 rent support group.\n\nSIBLINGS who have normal hearing participate in a s
 ummer camp experience designed just for them\, including crafts\, games\, 
 and outdoor activities.\n\nTHERAPISTS\, AUDIOLOGISTS\, TEACHERS\, AND ADMI
 NISTRATORS are encouraged to accompany their clients or come individually 
 to participate in the experience and receive additional training.\n\nPrese
 ntation topics for parents and professionals include cochlear implant surg
 ery\, bilateral implantation\, research/future directions\, audiological m
 anagement\, listening and spoken language development and strategies\, spe
 cial education law\, behavior management and bilingualism.\n\nWatch our mo

 ty campus. The family participants reside in one of the large student hous
 es on Mayfield Avenue (specific house is determined in January prior to LT
 M). Educational presentations take place in the Koret Pavilion at Hillel\,
  located at 565 Mayfield Avenue\, Stanford\, CA (see map).\n\n\n
