  presentation will share two practices that brought people together to bri
 ng about increased knowledge and action on emergency preparedness. First\,
  we will hear about the lessons learned from the Massachusetts Active Plan
 ning project\, which brought together local disability community members w
 ith their localities\, to work collaboratively\, share resources and exper
 tise about emergency preparedness and response for and with people with di
 sabilities\, ultimately enhancing resilience for the whole community. Our 
 speakers will focus on a replicable collaborative\, inclusive Community St
 akeholder Meeting (CSM) gap analysis process to address issues of communit
 y-wide concern\, such as needs assessment\, resident participation in loca
 l emergency planning\, risk communication\, public preparedness education 
 and creative use of community resources to address emergency needs\, for e
 xample in emergency shelters.\n\nOur second set of speakers will describe 
 their efforts to get people with disabilities and others with access and f
 unctional needs to prepare for emergencies\, for those groups to communica
 te their needs and concerns to emergency responders\, and vice versa\, and
  to encourage businesses\, organizations\, and local civic leaders to plan
  cooperatively for emergency preparedness through periodic community meeti
 ngs.\n\nLearning Objectives:\n\n\n	Understand how to identify key stakehol
 ders in the community and learn strategies for collaboration.\n	Learn how 
 to perform a gap analysis of your local emergency plan using the Active Pl
 anning Workbook and identify priorities and strategies for plan improvemen
 t.\n	Learn strategies and practical steps for improving the general state
