DESCRIPTION:Since 2001\, about 2.5 million men and women have served in the
U.S. military. One-third of these service members served more than once.
About half of all returning veterans have some level of service-connected
disability. For many veterans\, the transition to civilian life means lear
ning to live with a disability. Today’s “yellow ribbon” spirit has r
esulted in better services\, protections and treatments for wounded warrio
rs. However\, many veterans\, especially those with disabilities\, still
face significant barriers in their transition to civilian life.\n\nFor vet
erans\, work is not just about a paycheck. It’s about identity\, pride a
nd human connection. It’s also about healing because those who are emplo
yed have better physical and mental health. During this episode\, we will
focus on several key issues for returning wounded warriors to their work.\
