 view of the “Fundamentals of Audio Description” (developed by Dr. Snyd
 er) and access awareness\, particularly with respect to people who are bli
 nd or have low vision. Audio Description is a translation of images to wor
 ds—the visual is made verbal—and has been shown to provide access to t
 he wide range of media and arts (television\, film\, performing arts\, mus
 eums) that comprise any culture.\n\nThe principal constituency for Audio D
 escription is the underserved population of people who are blind or have a
  vision impairment\; in the United States\, there are over 21 million peop
 le who are blind or have difficulty seeing even with correction (American 
 Foundation for the Blind\, 2008).\n\nObjectives: At the conclusion of the 
 session participants will know/experience:\n\n\n	\n	Who are "the blind"?\n
 	\n	\n	Sighted guide assistance\n	\n	\n	The history of Audio Description\n
 	\n	\n	Active Seeing / Visual Literacy how to develop skills in concentrat
 ion and observation\n	\n	\n	The art of "editing" what you see\n	\n	\n	How
