DESCRIPTION:Date/Time: Thursday\, July 16\, 2015 3:30 - 5:00 PM Eastern Ti
me\n\nDescription: Individuals successfully utilizing eye gaze technologi
es are adults and children\, including those with various low-incidence di
sabilities such as cerebral palsy (CP)\, spinal cord injuries (SCI)\, acqu
ired brain injuries (ABI)\, ALS\, multiple sclerosis (MS)\, brainstem stro
kes\, muscular dystrophy (MD)\, Werdnig Hoffman syndrome\, and Rett Syndro
me. Eye gaze systems are being used in homes\, offices\, schools\, hospita
ls\, and other environments. One significant advantage of eye gaze access
is that it is a direct access method\, with no intermediary steps involved
in making a selection\, thus potentially speeding access\, while increasi
ng accuracy and rate within applications the individual requires across en
vironments and over time.\n\nLearning Objectives:\n\n\n	\n	Participants wi
ll be able to discuss advances in emerging eye gaze technologies at a basi
c level for persons who use AAC.\n	\n	\n	Participants will be able to iden
tify 3 key factors/considerations impacting an individual’s ability to u
se eye gaze at a basic level.\n	\n	\n	Participants will be able to compare
/contrast 3 different eye gaze systems and state key differences.\n	\n\n\n
