 , National Center on Accessibility (NCA)\, the LEAD Program with The Joh
 n F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and The Smithsonian Institut
 ion. The goal is to share their acquired knowledge and expertise in creati
 ng equal access and opportunity for people with disabilities in the areas 
 of Arts and Recreation with the broader community. Sessions will focus on 
 legal compliance issues\, best practices in the field and practical "how t
 o's" across a broad range of topics. The intended audiences include but ar
 e not limited to ADA Coordinators\, Program Administrators and the Staff\,
  Volunteer Program Administrators\, Federal\, State and Local Government A
 gencies and disability advocates.\n\nThe sessions are offered free of char
 ge and are real-time captioned.\n\nContinuing Education Recognition availa
 ble: Certificate of Attendance (Free)\n\nDescription : Arts and recreatio
 n venues provide auxiliary aids such as assistive listening and audio desc
 ription devices\, as well as other equipment like wheelchairs\, tablets\, 
 or iPads to provide access to their programs and activities for people wit
 h disabilities. Development of good policies and procedures for the mainte
 nance\, distribution\, and training in use of these devices is critical in
  order to provide safe and seamless access. Topics will include maintenanc
 e requirements of sanitizing\, and storage\; and distribution procedures o
 f testing\, delivery of devices\, instructions on use\, troubleshooting\, 
 collection\, and follow-up on any malfunction. While entities cannot charg
 e for the use of an auxiliary aid\, they can collect some form of collater
 al in an effort to ensure the equipment is returned. What is allowable and
  how to determine the type of collateral to request so as not to be onerou
 s to the patrons who have the loan of the equipment will be presented.\n\n
