DESCRIPTION:Addiction to opioids and other substances has risen dramaticall
 y in recent years. How government and private entites view treatment of ad
 diction to opioids and other substances has raised Americans with Disabili
 ties Act (ADA) concerns. In this session\, two members of the ADA National
  Network will discuss how the ADA impacts persons with Opioid Use Disorder
 s in a variety of health care settings. The presenters will also cover how
  to eliminate discrimination that results in barriers to treatment and rec
 overy.\n\nLearning objectives:\n\n\n	\n	Learn how people with opioid and o
 ther substance use disorders may be considered people with disabilities un
 der the Americans with Disabilities Act's (ADA) definition of disability.\
 n	\n	\n	Understand the ADA's protections for people with opioid use disord
 er.\n	\n	\n	Identify potential discrimination under the ADA that people in
  treatment and recovery may experience.\n	\n	\n	Learn resources for more i
 nformation on the ADA and where to file complaints of discrimination with 
 federal agencies.\n	\n\n
