DESCRIPTION:Date/Time: April 14\, 2016 at 2:30 pm ET\n\nLocation: Webinar
\n\nDescription: These 90 minute webinars are delivered by the Pacific A
DA Center using the Blackboard Collaborate webinar platform. All sessions
will be captioned\, recorded and archived.\n\nThis program is delivered v
ia both webinar platform and via telephone (additional charges may apply).
Real-time captioning is available via the webinar platform.\n\nAll webina
rs offered have real-time closed captioning for persons who are hearing im
paired. The webinars are accessible to people with vision disabilities by
using screen readers. The webinar system is also accessible to people with
mobility/dexterity impairments who use keyboard commands instead of mouse
clicks.\n\nThe way someone enters and moves into a building is not always
the same way they move to evacuate a building in an emergency. In additio
n to accessible entry\, persons with disabilities must be considered when
designing plans and building systems used for emergency evacuation. The ac
cessible means of egress provisions from the International Building Code (
IBC) are now referenced in the federal design regulations and will be requ
ired for all new construction. This program will introduce you to the conc
epts\, details and application of exiting provisions\, and assist in under
standing how the codes and federal regulations are now working to harmoniz
e the national response to designing a building not only for ingress\, but
for egress as well. Discussions will include operational safety plans\, f
ire drills\, notification/communication for occupants in a building during
the emergency and physical building requirements.\n\nLearning objectives:
\n\n\n	\n	Determine what is considered when preplanning for emergencies.\n
\n	\n	Recognize how people are informed about emergency routes and the ne
ed for emergency evacuations.\n	\n	\n	Identify the elements of the accessi
ble means of egress routes and where they are required.\n	\n\n\nTo registe
