 sts\, authors\, and Syracuse University faculty: University Professor\, St
 eve Kuusisto\, and recently appointed Research Professor\, Diane Wiener. S
 teve is Director of Interdisciplinary Programs and Outreach at the Burton 
 Blatt Institute\; Diane's appointment is effective January 1\, 2019\, when
  she'll join Steve as Associate Director of this innovative initiative. Sh
 e is currently Director of the Disability Cultural Center. We will be talk
 ing together about what's ahead for this new endeavor\, and how disability
  justice and the experiences and expertise of people with disabilities wil
 l be at the center of the work that's underway and to come\, locally\, reg
 ionally\, nationally\, and globally.\n\nFeatured Organization(s): \n\nOff

 te at Syracuse University\n\nThe new Office of Interdisciplinary Programs 
 and Outreach at the Burton Blatt Institute at Syracuse University will cre
 ates and advances Interdisciplinary\, intersectional educational programs\
 , research and pedagogy focused on disability justice\, identities\, cultu
 res and studies. The office will also engage with a wide array of Universi
 ty constituents to interface\, network and collaborate with local\, region
 al\, national and global partners\, and pursue development and advancement
  opportunities that underscore\, celebrate and enhance the rich and nuance
 d experiences of people with disabilities. The heart of this initiative ar
 e the interests and needs of Syracuse students\, faculty\, staff and alumn
 i with disabilities - including the significant experiences and contributi
 ons of veterans.\n
