 \n\n\nAccessibility in rail transportation in the United States varies tre
 mendously. Newer light rail systems generally have accessible stations and
  accessible cars that provide universal access for all passengers. Older s
 ubway systems\, commuter rail systems and Amtrak still have a long way to 
 go to become fully accessible. Ken Shiotani\, Senior Staff Attorney with t
 he National Disability Rights Network (link is external) will discuss the
  ADA requirements for different types of rail equipment and rail stations.
  The presentation will include examples from around the country of station
 s and rail cars made more accessible for people with disabilities and a di
 scussion of some pending rail car procurements and the choices transportat
 ion entities are contemplating regarding accessibility.\n\nRegister\n\n\n
