DESCRIPTION:The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) set the minimum requi
 rements for newly designed and constructed or altered state and local gove
 rnment facilities\, public accommodations\, and commercial facilities to b
 e readily accessible to and usable by individuals with disabilities. Many 
 projects must also follow the provisions of the 2009 revision of ANSI Stan
 dard ICC A117.1\, Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities.\n\nThis 
 course will identify the benefits of accessibility standards and the presc
 riptive requirements for accessible restrooms set by the ADA.\n\nThe Learn
 ing Objectives for the course are:\n\n1. Identify how accessibility standa
 rds accommodate a diverse set of users and the general prescriptive requir
 ements for accessible restroom design mandated by ADA.\n\n2. Describe requ
 irements for accessible lavatories and restroom accessories.\n\n3. Describ
 e requirements for accessible toilet compartments of varying sizes and the
  accessories needed to complete their specification.\n\n4. Discuss require
 ments for accessible bathing facilities.\n\nEarn: 1 AIA LU/HSW and 1 IDCEC
