 by Ambassador Jean Kennedy Smith\, VSA set out to ensure that people of al
 l ages living with disabilities could learn through\, participate in\, and
  enjoy the arts. In this exhibit\, eight people share their perspectives o
 n the impact that the arts have had on their lives.\nThe Exhibit is free a
 nd open to the public during open hours of the Kennedy Center.\n\n24/40 Ce
 lebration\nTwo monumental milestones.  One awesome celebration.\n25 years
  ago\, the Americans with Disabilities Act extended civil rights to millio
 ns of Americans. 40 years ago\, the Kennedy Center’s VSA opened its door
 s to provide arts and education opportunities for all people with disabili
 ties. These are indeed powerful reasons to celebrate. And so we shall!\nTh
 is is the 25/40 Celebration. Join us in DC this July—the Kennedy Center 
 and the Smithsonian are offering a one-of-a-kind\, cross-campus celebratio
 n. We are filling our stages\, theaters\, and public spaces with outstandi
 ng\, free events to honor a culture of creativity\, expression\, and Ameri
 can heritage.\n\n\n\n\n
