 .00\n\nProgram Description\n\n2016 and 2017 have been very active years fo
 r the adoption of new accessibility standards\, guidelines\, and requireme
 nts under the ADA\, the Rehabilitation Act\, model standards\, and various
  state laws. This interactive workshop will focus on the significant chang
 es and how they apply to various project types. It will also include sessi
 ons on medical equipment\, healthcare\, retail\, governmental facilities\,
  ADA programs planning\, and significant changes in the A117.1 Standard\, 
 along with the research behind them.\n\nThe one-day intermediate-to-advanc
 ed workshop\, 'Fair Housing'\, is a complement to this session. A 10% dis
 count off tuition is available when you register for both sessions.\n\nPar
 ticipants will discuss with the instructors how to apply these new require
 ments and guidelines to the tens of millions of buildings\, facilities\, p
 rograms\, and services they cover. With an aging population that represent
 s a huge market for accessible facilities and programs\, interest in compl
 iance with the ADA and other access standards is continuing to grow throug
 hout the country. The courts are helping to define how to apply each of th
 e laws as well. Instructors will discuss how these cases are progressing a
 nd what can be learned from some of the most prominent ones. Participants 
 will hone their skills at interpreting and applying both the old and the n
 ew requirements so that they can respond appropriately to users\, clients\
 , plaintiffs’ attorneys\, and the courts as needed.\n\nWith the ADA obli
 gations and interpretations as the structural framework for the class\, re
 quirements of other standards will be introduced\, compared\, and explaine
 d. This highly interactive workshop with seven top instructors will look i
 n detail at trending issues and explore best practices and universal desig
 n concepts that improve usability for everyone. This dynamic approach will
  mix presentations with small group breakout sessions and exercises to ana
 lyze and discuss how to apply some of the new requirements. This two-day s
 ession is complemented by the one-day Fair Housing session.\n\n\n\nAdditio
